The Pet Nup: A Romantic Comedy in Development

Sony Pictures International Productions and Mucho Mas Media are teaming up for a new original romantic comedy film titled “The Pet Nup,” which will be directed by Elaine del Valle. The star-studded cast includes Emeraude Toubia, Gregg Sulkin, Halston Sage, and Jaime Pressly. The film’s storyline revolves around a recently divorced couple who must navigate their new lives and love interests while dealing with the challenges of sharing custody of their beloved dog.

Production Team

Javier Chapa will serve as producer for Mucho Mas Media, with Phillip Braun as the executive producer. Sherrese Clarke Soares from Harbourview Equity will also be an executive producer on the project. The script for “The Pet Nup” was written by Tate Hanyok, known for his work on “Sex Appeal.”

Emeraude Toubia, best known for her roles in “With Love” and “Shadowhunters,” is set to star in the lead role of Felipe Vargas’ horror film “Rosario.” Gregg Sulkin, recognized for his performance in Hulu’s “Runaways,” will appear in Tyler Perry’s upcoming project “Six Triple Eight.” Halston Sage, whose film credits include “Dark Phoenix” and “Paper Towns,” has also starred in the popular TV series “Prodigal Son.” Emmy winner Jaime Pressly, known for her roles in “My Name Is Earl” and “Mom,” will bring her talent to “The Pet Nup.”

Elaine del Valle, the director of “The Pet Nup,” has an impressive resume that includes directing the Tubi original “Midnight Hustle” and the YA family drama “Brownsville Bred.” She has been recognized as a WarnerMedia 150 Artist, Sundance Writer & Director Lab alumna, and a finalist for the Shondaland Director program. Del Valle’s unique storytelling style is sure to bring a fresh perspective to the romantic comedy genre.
