Rosy McEwen, known for her breakout role in Georgia Oakley’s indie favorite Blue Jean, has recently joined the cast of Mission. In the film, she will be portraying the character of Claire, the estranged sister of the protagonist Dylan, played by George MacKay. The film is described as a “punk exploration” of Dylan’s journey as he breaks free from his solitary life to experience the highs and lows of existence.
Mission is being helmed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Wright, who previously directed For Those In Peril. The film is set to be shot in Glasgow, Scotland, and is being produced by Kate Byers and Linn Waite of Early Day Films, along with other producers from 65 Wilding Films, Meraki Films, and Rapt. Maisie Williams is also on board as an associate producer for the project.
Backed by BBC Film, Screen Scotland, and Ffilm Cymru Wales, Mission is receiving funding from the National Lottery. The film is a co-production between Early Day Films and 65 Wilding Films and was developed with support from Screen Scotland and BBC Film. Blue Finch Films has taken on the responsibility of worldwide sales for the project.
Apart from her role in Blue Jean, Rosy McEwen has also garnered attention for her performance in other projects. She received the BIFA for best leading performance for her role in Blue Jean. Audiences can look forward to seeing her alongside Caleb Landry-Jones in Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Harvest and Dev Patel in Rabbit Trap.
