Celebrating Excellence in Irish Film & Television

The 21st Irish Film & Television Awards nominations have been announced, with Lisa Mulcahy’s thriller “Lies We Tell” taking the lead in the feature film category with 13 nominations. On the television side, crime drama “Kin” is leading with 11 nominations. The awards ceremony, organized by the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA), is set to take place on April 20 in Dublin.

In addition to “Lies We Tell,” other contenders for Best Film include “Double Blind,” “Flora and Son,” “LOLA,” “That They May Face the Rising Sun,” and “Verdigris.” Each of these films also received nominations for their directors. It was a remarkable year for Irish talent, with notable actors such as Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and Andrew Scott competing for the Best Actor award.

The Best International Film category features entries like “All of Us Strangers,” “Oppenheimer,” “Past Lives,” “Poor Things,” “Saltburn,” and “The Holdovers.” Although “Barbie” missed out on a nomination, international stars such as Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone have been recognized in their respective acting categories. Additionally, Stephen Rea is set to receive the Irish Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement.
