Saudi stand-up comedian and actor Fahad Albutairi is set to make his return to the big screen after a five-year break in the upcoming family comedy film “Al Eid Eiden.” This marks a significant moment in Albutairi’s career, as he takes on the role of a workaholic father in the movie.
Albutairi will be joined by Emirati actress Meera Almidfa, who plays his independent wife, along with Abdulmajeed Fahad, Layla Fahad, and Abdulmohsen Al Harbi as their mischievous children. The storyline revolves around a family vacation on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island that takes a comedic turn due to a series of unfortunate events, ultimately bringing the family closer together.
Albutairi’s last theatrical release was the 2019 comedy “Rashid and Rajab,” where he showcased his talent in a body swap storyline. During his hiatus, he made appearances in projects such as MBC Studio’s Saudi adaptation of The Office and the Netflix-backed feature “Alkhallat+.” Additionally, he lent his voice to the popular animated series “Masameer County.”
Joining Albutairi in “Al Eid Eiden” are collaborators like Egyptian Bassem Youssef’s associate Shadi Alfons and veteran actor Hassan Rajab Alhammadi. The production is supported by Image Nation Abu Dhabi and boasts an all-female Emirati creative team led by director Maitha Al Awadhi, producer Rawia Abdallah, and writer Sara Al Sayegh.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, with a theatrical release planned in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider Gulf region. Front Row Filmed Entertainment, a Dubai-based distributor, will introduce the movie under its new mainstream cinema label, Haywire. This launch is anticipated to bring Albutairi back into the spotlight and showcase his comedic talents to audiences once again.
Overall, “Al Eid Eiden” presents an exciting opportunity for both Fahad Albutairi and the audience, promising a fun-filled family comedy experience that will leave viewers entertained and wanting more.
