German Broadcaster RTL Deutschland Secures ZDF Streaming Package

German broadcaster RTL Deutschland has recently announced a major deal with compatriot ZDF Studios to enhance its streaming offer. This partnership will bring nearly 1,000 episodes of popular ZDF shows to RTL+ starting from September 15. This move is aimed at solidifying RTL Deutschland’s position as a leading private broadcaster and streaming service in Germany.

The deal with ZDF Studios includes a wide range of series spanning different genres. Unscripted series like Wilsberg and Nord Nord Mord are set to launch in mid-September, followed by dramas such as Der Bergdoktor, Die Bergretter, and Bettys Diagnose on October 15. Additionally, family-friendly shows like Das Traumschiff, Ich Heirate eine Familie, and Die Schwarzwald-Klinik will be added to the package on November 15. Markus Schäfer, spokesman for the management of ZDF Studios, also highlighted the positive aspects of this collaboration, stating that series fans will now have another platform to enjoy their favorite ZDF shows on RTL+.
