It was alleged that he used marijuana while performing at the Beach Please! Festival, leading to the initiation of criminal proceedings against him by the Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors DIICOT.
During his performance at the music festival in Costinești, it was reported that Khalifa possessed over 18 grams of cannabis and even consumed cannabis on stage in the form of a craft cigarette. This led to him being taken in for questioning and subsequently charged. Possession of marijuana in Romania can result in severe punishment, including up to 10 years in prison. Despite the charges, Khalifa was released from custody.
