The Reason Behind Adele’s Postponed Las Vegas Residency

Adele recently announced that she is postponing her “Weekends with Adele” Las Vegas residency through March due to an undisclosed illness. The Grammy award winner, 35, shared on social media that she had been sick at the end of her last leg and throughout her break, which has taken a toll on her voice. She emphasized that she needed to focus on resting thoroughly on doctors’ orders to recover fully before resuming her shows.

This is not the first time Adele has faced challenges with her Las Vegas residency. Initially set to kick off in January 2022, she had to postpone the start due to COVID-19-related delays. Half of her crew and team were affected by COVID-19, making it impossible for her to take the stage as planned. Adele expressed her disappointment about not being able to give her fans the performance they deserved, leading to a last-minute postponement.

After rescheduling the shows, Adele’s residency officially began in November. The singer surprised fans by extending her stay in Sin City with 34 new dates starting in November 2023. She later added 32 more shows in October, extending her residency until June of that year. Despite the challenges, “Weekend with Adele” has received praise from fans and celebrities alike, with notable guests attending her performances.

During an interview in December 2023, Adele revealed her self-critical nature when famous guests like Lady Gaga attended her shows. She admitted to harshly judging herself throughout the performance, questioning her singing, humor, and even her wardrobe choices. Despite the acclaim from fans and celebrities, Adele’s own self-assessment reveals her constant pursuit of perfection and self-improvement.

Adele is set to return to the stage on May 17 after postponing the remaining weekends of her Las Vegas residency. While she has not yet announced new dates for the postponed shows, fans are eagerly awaiting her comeback performance. Adele’s commitment to delivering exceptional performances while prioritizing her health highlights her dedication to her craft and her audience.
