Universal/DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 4 has surpassed the $500 million mark in global box office revenue, reaching a total of $503.5 million worldwide. The film has proven to be a massive success, particularly in the international market where it has earned $318.5 million. This achievement places Kung Fu Panda 4 in a prestigious group of animated films that have reached the $500 million milestone since 2020.

Internationally, Kung Fu Panda 4 has become the highest-grossing film in the franchise in 37 markets, including major territories such as Mexico ($35.2 million) and Brazil ($8.1 million). The movie’s strong performance overseas has contributed significantly to its overall global box office success.

The Kung Fu Panda franchise as a whole recently surpassed the $2 billion mark in global box office revenue, solidifying its position as the 7th highest-grossing animated franchise of all time. DreamWorks Animation now has three animated franchises that have crossed the $2 billion milestone worldwide, including Shrek ($3.972 billion) and Madagascar ($2.257 billion), in addition to Kung Fu Panda.

The success of Kung Fu Panda 4 comes at a time when the global box office is experiencing milestones from other major releases, such as Warner Bros/Legendary’s Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which have both crossed the $500 million and $700 million marks, respectively. Additionally, Universal’s new release, The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, has made a strong debut at the international box office, earning $8.7 million from 38 markets.
