  1. Vincent D'Onofrio. I'm flabbergasted. I can't remember the last time my flabber was so gasted. He pulled off that mix of menacing and endearing seamlessly. How remarkably like life.

  2. my dad was the caretaker ov the Howard house in crossplains texas during the late 70s/early 80s. i would throw rocks off the property and drag tree branches that fell to a pile while he mowed. i remember playing with my action figures on Howard's bed and typing on one ov the type writers he used and getting yelled at for it by my dad… who later that night laughed his ass off while drinking with his friends and telling them about 'that little shit' he raised and how Howard would have set a switch to me and then laughed his ass off.

i have great respect for Howard. is vast intellect in a small town. i hope my dad is telling Robert that story now. its one ov my favorite life moments.

  3. Great movie! I wondered how an intellectual young man, a writer, in a small town lived a life very close to his mother, unable to marry a beautiful woman and end up killing himself. I am totally impressed by this film!

  4. I will admit that I wanted them to live together happily ever after but what I didn’t think about was did this character deserve to live with someone like the male character who was afraid to embrace life on life’s terms. The Universe took care of this not happening to her.

  5. My family is from this part of Texas. They have long passed. I miss them so much. I feel closer to them watching this movie….RIP my loved ones 🙏💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙🩵 Watching in 2025
